Golden visa in the Algarve
The British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (BPCC) is holding its next Business Breakfast on Tuesday, April 24 at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa, Vilamoura, at 8.15am. A presentation entitled “Golden Visa – Algarve’s new golden opportunity?” will be led by speakers Ricardo Ferreira (lawyer), Sara Allen, Imogarbe (property expert) and Chitra Stern, Martinhal (entrepreneur).
The Golden Visa has been described as a success in Portugal since the programme was created.
“Lisbon and Porto are a great example of that. The real estate market is growing very fast in these cities and prices are getting higher. So, the next potential big market for the candidates to the Golden Visa investments would be the Algarve, offering better opportunities concerning the price per square metre and great quality of life,” said the BPCC in a statement.
“Why has the Algarve not seen the demand, considering that it has what a golden visa buyer is looking for? Is this more down to marketing efforts from the agents in the area? As the supply of properties in the cities is becoming low, will it be the agents from the cities bringing the clients to the Algarve? Does the region need to work together like they have done in other areas of Portugal to bring the buyers to the Algarve?”
The session will allow BPCC members time to discuss these and other questions, but also to share their experiences and learn from each other.
Ricardo Ferreira is a lawyer and Managing Partner of Portugal for Martínez-Echevarría & Ferreira; Sara Allen is Real Estate Director for Martinhal Family Hotels & Resorts; and Chitra Stern is CEO for Martinhal.
Places are limited, thus reservation is recommended. Cost is €13.50 for Chamber members and Hilton’s Club H20 Members, and €18.50 for non-Members, including a buffet-style breakfast.
The cost is for the breakfast only and will be paid on the day directly to Hilton Vilamoura.
